We are saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, whose father King George VI struggled with stuttering throughout his life.
“She was an incredible person,” said Stuttering Foundation President Jane Fraser. “Her father, King George VI, was my father's role model as a person who stutters. In those days for a boy to know that the King of England stuttered gave him the courage to keep going. Queen Elizabeth more than lived up to her father's ideals with courage, empathy, and humility.”
