Ellen Kelly, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, BCS-F joins host, Sara MacIntyre, M.A., CCC-SLP, to kick off a new series dedicated to exploring and supporting the growth of counseling skills in clinicians working with those who stutter (and beyond!). To kick off this series, Ellen and Sara discuss [likely] the most important skill to considerActive Listening! They break down what 'goes into' active listening, why active listening is so critical in supporting those we work with through their journeys, ways to improve our clinical listening skills, and they share clinical examples and simulated responses (as well as common pitfalls!) throughout.
