It’s quite interesting to read about someone who shares your very same name, and quite sad when that person passes away. Today we learned of the death of columnist and friend “Plainly Jane” Fraser.

Some years ago, I learned of a columnist for The Weekend Australian named Jane Fraser who penned a column called “Plainly Jane.” We corresponded often due to our shared moniker, and I learned early on that her husband was a person who stuttered. I shared my insights on stuttering with her, which resulted in a lovely column in April 2011.

For her contribution to raising awareness about stuttering, and for her friendship, I feel it appropriate to pause for a moment today to pay tribute to my friend “Plainly Jane” Fraser.
