During a CNN town hall, President Joe Biden discussed stuttering. Here are some of his remarks from the event:

Dr. Frederick Murray, 89, whose stuttering began suddenly and violently at an early age, is a retired speech pathologist who taught at the University of New Hampshire and directed the stuttering therapy program there for many years. 

Samuel L. Jackson is a powerful and prolific American actor, who has achieved both critical and commercial acclaim for his roles in films such as Jungle Fever, Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Iron Man and Marvel’s The Avengers. In 2011, Jackson became the highest-grossing actor of all time. Jackson’s films are seen and loved by millions.

It may seem paradoxical, but word retrieval is faster when a child knows more words and has a better “network” that creates connections among them.

Actor Charlie Sheen is best known for his starring role on CBS’ long-running hit show, Two and a Half Men. While Sheen is recognized today as a celebrated star of stage and screen, he has had to overcome his own struggle with stuttering to achieve success as an actor.

The stuttering community would like to honor Gord Lane as an all-star whose openness about his stuttering during his days with the Islanders put a human face on the speech problem and gave hope to others who were struggling with stuttering.

As a young boy, I was confident in myself and enjoyed being the center of attention. I liked to have fun and laugh, and stuttering did not begin to affect me until my middle school days and worsened in my teenage years.

En junio de 1988, el escritor cubano Calvert Casey (muerto en 1969 a los 45 anos), fue dado a conocer en el mundo angloparlante.
